Edgar Argenis Ramírez turns himself in to authorities after attempted robbery in Los Cacicazgos
In an act of voluntary surrender, Edgar Argenis Ramírez Álvarez placed himself at the disposal of the National Police this Wednesday. The man is accused of having attempted to rob the wife of an ambassador of her belongings in the Los Cacicazgos sector, an event that generated great attention in the capital.
Ramírez Álvarez admitted his responsibility for the event and explained that his decision to turn himself in responds to the desire to face the legal consequences of his actions, in addition to ensuring his personal safety. The citizen acknowledged that his behavior was incorrect and deeply regretted the circumstances of the incident.
I tried to strip a person of their belongings, which I understand is wrong, but that is why I am here assuming the consequences of my actions. All of that is something painful.

During his statement, the detainee expressed his dismay upon learning the identity of the affected person and, especially, due to the presence of a minor during the altercation. According to his words, the fact that a child was present makes the situation even more regrettable.
- The detainee stated that he had not received physical mistreatment and did not present any injuries at the time of his surrender.
- Private Fabel Daniel Alcántara Torres confirmed that Ramírez Álvarez was transferred to the Naco sector police station to continue with the investigation process.
- The competent authorities are carrying out the necessary procedures to proceed with the case in accordance with the law.
With this handover, the case now passes into the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, who will determine the corresponding coercive measures for the defendant after admitting his participation in the attempted robbery.
