Police operation in La Vega results in arrest and seizure of firearms
In a strategic intervention executed in the province of La Vega, agents of the National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, carried out a raid on a residence located in the El Coli alley, belonging to the Cutupú sector. The legal action was carried out under Search Warrant No. 2026-AJ0070688, in response to investigations into alleged violations of Law 631-16, which regulates the control of weapons, ammunition, and related materials in the country.
During the deployment of law enforcement, Juana Milagros Campusano Núñez, known in the area as Milagros, 41 years of age, was arrested; she was inside the residence at the time of the inspection.
Seizures made
Following the exhaustive search of the property, the agents managed to confiscate various items that were in the possession of the detainee without the proper legal documentation to support their ownership. Among the seized objects are:
- A Taurus brand pistol, model G2C, 9 millimeter caliber.
- Two magazines and ammunition corresponding to the weapon.
- A bulletproof vest.
- A communication radio with seven chargers.
- A pair of handcuffs.
- Additional materials such as adhesive tape and a dagger-type bladed weapon.
The authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and continue to deepen investigations to clarify the origin of these materials and determine the criminal responsibilities of those involved, who will be brought to justice in the coming hours.
