The ADP calls for national mobilizations for teacher incentives
The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) has issued a formal call to the entire national teaching body to participate in simultaneous rallies next Thursday, August 20. The main objective of these demonstrations is to demand that the Ministry of Education (Minerd) comply with the payment of salary incentives and retroactive amounts derived from the Teacher Performance Evaluation (EDD).
The union president, Eduardo Hidalgo, confirmed through an official circular that the protest days will begin at 9:00 a.m. In the case of the National District and the Santo Domingo province, the 16 sections will meet at the historic Independence Park, while in the rest of the country, teachers will demonstrate in front of their corresponding educational district offices.
Clarification regarding teaching
It is important to highlight that the ADP has emphasized that this call does not contemplate a work stoppage or the interruption of school activities. The actions will be strictly limited to the scheduled gatherings, allowing the academic calendar to continue its usual course.
The mobilization takes place at a critical moment, just days before the start of the 2026-2027 school year, scheduled for August 24, while the educational system is in the midst of teacher training.
