The ACDSD will hold its 2026 Acedeísta Excellence gala to honor the best in sports
The Association of Sports Chroniclers of Santo Domingo (ACDSD) has confirmed the holding of its prestigious gala “Acedeísta Excellence, Chroniclers and Athletes of the Year,” an event designed to highlight the effort and results obtained by Dominican communication professionals and athletes during 2025.
Américo Celado S., president of the entity, detailed that the ceremony will take place next Tuesday, March 15th, at 12:00 noon. The venue chosen for this gala event is the La Mancha hall at the Barceló hotel, traditionally known as the former Lina.
Lifetime achievement and outstanding work awards
During the event, the ACD Executive Council will present special awards to key figures in journalism and sports management. Communicators Osvaldo Rodríguez Suncar and Gustavo Rodríguez Diloné will be honored for their impeccable careers of more than 40 years dedicated to the uninterrupted practice of sports journalism.
Similarly, José P. Monegro will be recognized, who has been valued for his outstanding work at the head of the Organizing Committee for the Central American and Caribbean Games held on Dominican soil.
After a thorough evaluation and much deliberation, eight sports journalists and eight athletes whose respective performances reached excellence in their professional and athletic roles during the year 2025 will be awarded for the occasion.

Award details
The gala will not only serve to reward excellence, but will also offer a high-level cultural component. The artistic portion will be led by maestro Ramón Orlando Valoy, who will take advantage of the stage to commemorate his 50 years of a successful career in popular art.
The ACDSD, founded on March 9, 1929, reaffirms with this edition its historical commitment to valuing those who raise the standard of national sports and sports journalism, keeping alive a tradition that recognizes the positive impact of these professionals on Dominican society.
