Indonesia on alert after powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake
A strong 7.7-magnitude earthquake has shaken the coasts of Indonesia this Friday, triggering an immediate mobilization of local authorities due to the imminent risk of a tsunami. The seismic event has activated emergency protocols throughout the affected region.
According to technical reports, the epicenter of the seismic movement was located off the coast of Sulawesi Island. The earthquake originated at a depth of approximately 30 kilometers, a condition that, given its magnitude, considerably increases the possibility of seafloor displacements capable of generating far-reaching waves.
