The natural phenomenon has left, according to preliminary reports from authorities, a regrettable toll of 234 deaths and extensive damage to national infrastructure.
Infantino, who recently visited the city of Cali, expressed his deep sadness at the magnitude of the tragedy. The head of world football sent a message of condolences to the affected families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured who are currently receiving medical attention.
