Liverpool Eyes Florian Wirtz with Record Bid

Liverpool has submitted a record bid of 130 million euros (147 million dollars) to sign the talented Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Florian Wirtz, according to sources close to the club.

If it materializes, the terms proposed by the Premier League club will surpass the agreement for striker Darwin Núñez in 2022, which could reach £85 million with add-ons. It was expected that Wirtz would remain in the Bundesliga next season, either with Leverkusen or Bayern Munich. However, a source revealed that the player is interested in joining the Premier League, impressed by the plans of coach Arne Slot.

The German international, with 57 goals and 65 assists in 197 appearances for Leverkusen, is highly valued at Anfield. He has demonstrated his ability to perform in various attacking positions for both his club and his national team.

Previously, he was also linked with a possible transfer to Manchester City, where he was considered a potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

Conversations between Liverpool and Leverkusen are already underway, pursuing a £30 million deal for full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
