The striker Alexander Isak would be open to the possibility of leaving Newcastle United this summer, with Liverpool as the main candidate to sign him if his departure materializes, according to sources close to Alofoke Deportes.
Newcastle have made it clear they are reluctant to let the player go.
Isak was not included in Eddie Howe’s 30-player squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Singapore and South Korea, citing a “minor thigh injury” as the reason for his absence.
However, reports suggest that a 150 million pound offer could change the club’s stance.
The 25-year-old player, signed for £63 million from Real Sociedad in August 2022, also missed the 4-0 friendly defeat against Celtic in Glasgow. Howe explained after the match that he had decided to send Isak back to Newcastle due to speculation about his future.
Newcastle have maintained throughout the summer that Isak, who has three years left on his contract at St James’ Park, is not available for transfer.

After failing to make progress in their attempt to sign Isak, Liverpool turned their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, and finalized a deal for £69 million plus £10 million in add-ons for the French international on Wednesday, surpassing Newcastle’s interest and securing the signing of the 23-year-old player.
Newcastle manager Howe, who last week claimed to be “confident” that Isak would remain at the club this summer, is scheduled to speak at a press conference in Singapore on Saturday before the friendly against Arsenal 24 hours later.
