Santiago shines at ECLAC: Antonio Keka’s Son captivates at the regional meeting

The cultural richness of Santiago was felt during the 41st session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). At this important regional meeting, the group Son de Antonio Keka was in charge of adding a touch of tradition and rhythm, offering a representative sample of Dominican identity to international and local delegations.

The UTESA Dominican Convention and Culture Center was the chosen venue for this artistic display, which served as a cultural welcome during the event’s official lunch. The presentation allowed attendees, coming from various countries, to immerse themselves in one of the most authentic expressions of the Heart City.

Beyond the economy: Identity and tradition

The group’s participation not only served to liven up the meeting, but also managed to integrate an artistic dimension into an agenda usually focused on debates about development and the economy. Through dance and music, Son de Antonio Keka projected a comprehensive image of Santiago, reminding visitors that the city is much more than its thriving productive activity.

Among the highlights of the day are:

  • Regional projection: The opportunity to showcase local traditions to a high-level international audience.
  • Cultural identity: The strengthening of Santiago’s musical and dance legacy as a pillar of Dominican identity.
  • Social value: Recognition of the work of popular groups that preserve the region’s intangible heritage.

With this intervention, the Son de Antonio Keka left a significant mark on ECLAC, ensuring that the cultural essence of Santiago became a fundamental part of the experience lived by the delegates during their stay in the country.
