Green alert in the Dominican Republic due to the arrival of an active tropical wave
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a green alert for seven provinces and the National District, due to the proximity of an active tropical wave moving from the east of Puerto Rico. This meteorological phenomenon, in combination with an upper-level trough, promises to alter weather conditions across much of the Dominican territory over the coming hours.

The demarcations currently under this alert level are:
- Santo Domingo
- National District
- Samaná
- San Pedro de Macorís
- Hato Mayor
- La Romana
- El Seibo
- La Altagracia
This provision responds to technical reports warning of a significant increase in atmospheric humidity, which is already causing scattered downpours, thunderstorms, and wind gusts in the eastern coastal areas.
The population is advised to stay away from rivers, streams, and ravines that are experiencing flooding, as well as to avoid using swimming areas in the provinces under alert to prevent unfortunate incidents.

According to meteorological data, the system’s impact will be most evident starting early Monday morning. Rainfall is expected to intensify and move toward other areas of the country, including the Cibao, the southern region, and the southwest. By Monday afternoon, precipitation will reach provinces such as Santiago, Puerto Plata, La Vega, San Juan, and Pedernales, extending even into early Tuesday morning.
