In an exciting WNBA matchup, Angel Reese shone with a stellar performance, leading the Chicago Sky to a crucial victory over the Los Angeles Sparks with a score of 92-85.

Reese, showcasing her dominance on the court, scored 24 points, her season high, and grabbed 16 rebounds, marking her fourth consecutive game with 15 or more rebounds, an unprecedented milestone in the league. In the final quarter, Reese was relentless, adding 11 key points that consolidated the Sky’s lead. In addition, her performance included seven assists and two blocks, demonstrating her versatility in the game. Reese scored six consecutive points at the start of the final quarter, propelling Chicago to take the lead definitively.

Tribute to Candace Parker

The game was also special for the tribute to Candace Parker, a legend of women’s basketball, whose number 3 was retired by the Sparks in an emotional ceremony during halftime. Parker, a Chicago native and two-time MVP, had a distinguished WNBA career, playing for the Sparks, the Sky, and the Aces, winning titles with each team. The Sky also plan to retire Parker’s jersey later in the summer.Ariel Atkins scored 20 points for the Sky, while Kia Nurse added 14 off the bench. Rachel Banham contributed 13 points and Elizabeth Williams had 12. For the Sparks, Kelsey Plum led with 22 points, Dearica Hamby scored 20 points and 10 rebounds, Azura Stevens scored 17 points and Emma Cannon added 15 from the bench. The first half ended with a 40-34 lead for the Sky. In the third quarter, a three-point play by Reese extended the lead to 48-36, but the Sparks responded with a 17-3 run to take the lead.
