The Wolves have secured the incorporation of defender Jackson Tchatchoua, a move that brings the Premier League closer to the historic spending record in the summer market. The Midlands club completed the signing of the right-back on Tuesday, coming from Hellas Verona, for a sum close to 12.5 million euros (14.6 million dollars). This operation raises the total accumulated spending of the Premier League to 2.31 billion pounds sterling (3.12 billion dollars). The spending record in a single transfer window was set in the summer of 2023, with a figure of £2.36 billion.

Jackson Tchatchoua joins Wolves from Hellas Verona, as confirmed by the Premier League club on Tuesday. The international Cameroonian Tchatchoua, 23 years old, was recognized last season as the fastest player in Serie A, with an average speed of 34.88 km/h and a top speed of 36.3 km/h. Tchatchoua played 62 league games for Verona in two seasons, one of them on loan, scoring two goals. He becomes the fifth signing for the Wolves in this window, after Jørgen Strand Larsen, Fer Lopez, Jhon Arias and David Wolfe. So far, the three most important signings in the Premier League this summer, in terms of fees paid, have been for players from Bundesliga clubs.
