Cole Palmer takes ownership of the number 10 shirt at Chelsea
The talented footballer Cole Palmer has been confirmed as the new wearer of the number 10 shirt at Chelsea, as announced by the club this Thursday.
Palmer, who previously wore the number 20, will take the emblematic jersey number for the 2025/26 season, starting with the FIFA Club World Cup.The number change will take effect before Chelsea’s participation in the tournament to be held in the United States. Fans could see Palmer with the number 10 for the first time when the Blues face Los Angeles FC in Atlanta on June 16.

The decision to assign the number 10 to Palmer comes after Mykhailo Mudryk, who had worn it since his arrival at the club in 2023, has been unable to play due to a suspension.
The new signing, Liam Delap, will wear the number 9 on the team. Palmer has proven to be a key player for the London team since his arrival, scoring 37 goals in the Premier League in two seasons. Mudryk, for his part, has only managed five league goals with Chelsea. Mudryk was present at the Conference League final, where Chelsea was crowned champion. He was photographed with a winner’s medal, although it is not clear if it was his or Enzo Fernández’s. The 24-year-old player denied having done “anything wrong” after failing the drug test in December and expressed his desire to return to the field “soon.” So far, neither Chelsea nor the Football Association have provided updates on the case.
