West Ham United has secured the signing of Callum Wilson on a one-year contract, following his departure from Newcastle United last month. The striker arrives as a free agent after failing to agree on a contract extension with Newcastle. Wilson, 33, scored 49 goals in 130 appearances in all competitions during his five seasons at Newcastle. His playing time was affected in recent seasons due to injuries and the presence of Alexander Isak as the starting striker.

  • Son Heung-min announces his departure from Tottenham this summer.
  • Newcastle submits an offer for Sesko, while Isak’s future is uncertain.
  • Manchester United can sign a forward without needing to sell players.
Despite this, Wilson, who represented England on nine occasions between 2018 and 2023, will continue his career in the Premier League by joining West Ham, managed by Graham Potter, for next season. Wilson, after six seasons at Bournemouth before his transfer to Newcastle in September 2020 for approximately 20 million pounds, expressed his enthusiasm: “I am excited to join a football club as big as West Ham. A club that shares my passion for hard work and dedication, and where I seek success, I am happy to be a part of it. I look forward to facing this challenge.”

There’s so much talent in the team. The coach has arrived, he’s making everyone a team, all working in the same direction to achieve the goal, which is to finish as high as possible in the league.

Wilson, who was also linked with Leeds United, joins Jean-Clair Todibo, Daniel Cummings, El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters at the London Stadium this summer.

We are pleased to welcome Callum to West Ham United. He is a proven and experienced Premier League striker, with a great work ethic and a fantastic goalscoring record. He also has an excellent character and personality, which is a very important factor, and something we place great emphasis on when signing players.
