Running back Nyheim Hines, after overcoming a knee injury that kept him away from the NFL for the last two seasons, has reached a contractual agreement with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The news was confirmed after Hines took a test with the team on Monday.

Hines’ serious injury occurred in July 2023, while playing with the Buffalo Bills. The running back suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee in a jet ski accident.

Before the injury, Hines was set to be the Bills’ primary kick and punt returner.

In 2024, Hines signed with the Cleveland Browns, but was unable to play due to injury and was released by the team in February.

Hines, 28, has accumulated 2,980 yards from the line of scrimmage and has achieved 18 touchdowns in his career. His professional career began with the Indianapolis Colts, the team that selected him in the fourth round of the 2018 draft.

Furthermore, he has achieved two touchdowns on punt returns and two on kickoff returns.
