United States to Review Visas for the 2026 World Cup

The United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, has announced that a thorough review of visa applications will be conducted for tourists wishing to enter the country for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The sporting event, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will attract fans from all over the world.

“We have an established process that we will implement for visa approval. Everyone will be thoroughly examined, but they will be welcome in this country,” said Noem.

The statements were made in the Oval Office, in the company of the U.S. president and the FIFA president. The U.S. leader noted that, while the country will welcome fans, some countries could face greater difficulties in the entry process. In addition, it was announced that the World Cup group draw will take place on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The 2026 World Cup will take place between June 11 and July 19, 2026. The tournament final will be played at MetLife Stadium, on the outskirts of New York, where Argentina will seek to defend the title obtained in Qatar 2022.
