Toros del Este Secure Continuity for the 2026-27 Season
LA ROMANA – Los Toros del Este have announced the renewal of Jesús Mejía as general manager and Víctor Estévez as manager, along with their respective work teams, for the 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), which will begin in October. The bullfighting directive is committed to the continuity of the sports project that led the Romanense team to the Final Series in the recent campaign.During the Regular Season and the Round Robin, the Bulls held firm in second place, thanks to a solid pitching staff and a productive offense that made them one of the most balanced teams in the tournament. Under the direction of Mejía and Estévez, the franchise was the only one to maintain a .500 or better record in each month of competition (October to January). In addition, they led the league in home runs (40) and stolen bases (72), marking the first time in team history that they dominated both offensive departments in the same season. The collective performance also translated into individual recognitions:The goal is to follow up on the work done last season, in which the team showed a competitive resurgence until reaching the Final Series. Now we want to complete the mission: to conquer the National Championship and bring the Caribbean Series crown back to the Dominican Republic.

- Bryan De La Cruz won the Most Valuable Player of the Regular Season, with Gilberto Celestino as runner-up in the voting.
- Eloy Jiménez was distinguished as Round Robin MVP.
With confirmation from the Baseball Operations department and the coaching staff, the Toros del Este formally begin their planning for the upcoming winter season, with the clear goal of competing for the championship again.This group showed character by coming from behind and competing with determination in the Final Series. Although we didn’t win the title, we maintain the chemistry and motivation to achieve what is pending: lifting the cup in 2027.
