Tigers Comeback and Defeat Brewers with Walk-Off Home Run by Torkelson

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers achieved an epic victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, coming back to win 5-4 in an exciting encounter at Comerica Park. The key to the triumph was a walk-off home run hit by Spencer Torkelson in the ninth inning, securing the series for the Tigers.

Torkelson’s crucial hit not only defined the game, but also rescued the Tigers’ ace, Tarik Skubal, from the loss, who, despite a solid performance, failed to take the victory.

Skubal started the game dominantly, retiring the first 11 Brewers batters and threatening a no-hitter in the early innings. However, the Brewers reacted in the final part of the game, highlighting a two-run double by Blake Perkins in the seventh inning, which tied the score and nullified Detroit’s lead.

Left-hander Skubal finished his outing with just over six innings, allowing four runs and seven hits, ending his streak of consecutive wins.

When it seemed Skubal would take the loss, Jahmai Jones, who entered as a pinch hitter, tied the game with a home run in the eighth inning, setting the stage for Torkelson’s feat in the ninth inning.

For Milwaukee, William Contreras and Gary Sánchez stood out offensively, connecting key hits during their team’s partial comeback.

With this victory, the Tigers demonstrated their ability to react in critical moments and supported their star pitcher, in a game that culminated in an exciting ending before their fans.
