Yankees Complete Sweep at Fenway Park with Brilliant Performance by Schlittler
BOSTON – In an iconic setting, right-handed pitcher Cam Schlittler dazzled, leading the New York Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox, thus securing a sweep at the historic Fenway Park.
Schlittler, who grew up near Boston and was a Red Sox fan, had an outstanding performance in his first professional start at Fenway. He pitched eight solid innings, allowing only two runs (one earned) and four hits, with five strikeouts and one walk.
The game remained contested until the seventh inning. At that moment, Cody Bellinger, acting as a pinch hitter, hit a single that drove in two runs, tipping the scales in favor of the Yankees. Aaron Judge also contributed with a run-scoring hit in the same inning.
From the Red Sox, Venezuelan Carlos Narváez hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. Prospect Payton Tolle impressed in his start, striking out 11 batters in six innings, although he allowed a home run by Jazz Chisholm Jr.
With this triumph, the Yankees extended their winning streak to six consecutive victories and achieved their first sweep in Boston since September 2021, solidifying their recent dominance in this historic rivalry.
