Titans of the South Prevail Over the Heroes of Moca in an Epic Duel of the LNB
San Cristóbal – In an encounter full of emotion, the Southern Titans achieved an agonizing victory over the Heroes of Moca with a final score of 93-90. The decisive play came from Brandon Spearman, who scored a crucial three-pointer with only 0.8 seconds remaining on the clock.
Spearman became the key figure of the match, scoring 24 of his 25 points in the second half. His performance included the basket that secured the victory for the current national two-time champions, who now have a 1-1 record for the season.
The Titans’ attack was supported by Shaun Williams, who contributed 16 points, and Antonio Davis, with 14 points and four rebounds. Randy Bautista also stood out with a double-double, adding 11 points and 10 assists.
On the Heroes’ side, John Clark Jr. led the offense with 26 points, followed by Caleb Huffman with 20 points and Eloy Vargas, who contributed 18 points and six rebounds.
The Titans dominated the first half, taking advantage of their effectiveness in long-distance shots and reaching a lead of up to 13 points, closing the first half with a score of 57-47. The Heroes reacted in the third quarter, led by Huffman and Clark Jr., and managed to take the lead, finishing the quarter with a score of 73-71 in their favor.
The final quarter was a constant battle of scoring. Spearman, with a three-pointer, returned the lead to the Titans in the final minutes. Vargas tied the score with a long-range shot with 16 seconds left. Finally, Spearman sealed the victory with the play that defined the match.
