Chad Tracy Assumes Interim Command of the Red Sox
In an unexpected move, the Boston Red Sox have announced a significant change in their coaching staff. Chad Tracy has been designated as the new interim manager, replacing Alex Cora. The decision was made after a meeting of the team’s senior management, including owner John Henry, president Sam Kennedy, and chief baseball operations officer Craig Breslow. This change marks the end of Cora’s tenure after having managed the team in over a thousand games. Tracy, who has been at the helm of the Triple-A Worcester team since 2022, arrives with a deep knowledge of the organization’s minor league system. In addition, he maintains a close relationship with several of the team’s young talents.During his time in Worcester, Tracy worked with prospects such as Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, Wilyer Abreu, Ceddanne Rafaela, and Jarren Duran, as well as with established players in rehabilitation processes. At 40 years old, Tracy combines youth with a solid baseball background, influenced by her father, Jim Tracy, who had a distinguished career as a manager in Major League Baseball. Tracy’s day was particularly hectic. While driving to Worcester, she was informed of her promotion and had to travel immediately to take command of the large team. Tracy has assured that her approach will be based on leveraging the team’s strengths.Chad has been in the organization for a while and has shown his ability to bring out the best in our players.

Despite the unexpected change, the locker room seems to support the new leader, who already knows several of the players, which could facilitate the transition in this new stage for the Red Sox.We have speed and athletes. The idea is to get people on base, be aggressive, and take advantage of those tools to win games.
