South Korea Debuts with Crushing Victory in the World Baseball Classic
Tokyo – South Korea’s national team began its participation in the 2026 World Baseball Classic with a demonstration of offensive power, surpassing the Czech Republic with a final score of 11-4 at the Tokyo Dome.
The match, played this Thursday, was characterized by the Asians’ dominance from the first inning.
The Korean offensive ignited from the start, setting the course of the match with a grand slam by Bo Gyeong Moon that drove in four runs, establishing a 4-0 lead on the scoreboard.
The Czech opener, Daniel Padysak, failed to get a single out before being relieved.

Czechia tried to get closer in the fifth inning with a three-run home run by Terrin Vavra, reducing the difference to 6-3, after Max Prejda and Martin Cervinka got on base.

Bo Gyeong Moon led the offensive production with five RBIs, thanks to his grand slam and a run-scoring single in the seventh inning.
Jahmai Jones also contributed a solo home run in the eighth inning, extending the lead to 11-3.Korean pitching showed solidity, with starter Hyeong Jun So pitching three scoreless innings and allowing four hits.
Relievers Yeong Hyun Park and Young Kyu Kim combined for two scoreless innings.
