Santo Domingo Crowned U12 National Two-Time Champion in Exciting Final

Santo Domingo won the U12 national bicampeón title by defeating Santiago in a vibrant final of the Sixth National Championship “Copa Robinson Canó”. The match, which extended to the eighth inning, culminated with a score of 12-8 in favor of Santo Domingo.

The championship definition took place at the Rafael Pichardo Stadium of the Farándula League. The game reached the sixth inning with a tie at four runs, which forced the teams to play extra innings.

Yeison Asencio was the key figure of the match, connecting a grand slam in the eighth inning, breaking the tie and securing the victory for Santo Domingo.

San Pedro de Macorís se Lleva el Bronce

In a previous game, San Pedro de Macorís dominated La Romana with a resounding 11-0 knockout, securing the bronze medal in the tournament.

Award Ceremony

The awards ceremony was attended by Juan Núñez, president of Fedom, and his executive committee, along with Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, president of Lidom, Pavel Aguiló, vice president of the Liga de la Farándula, Eriberto Miranda Then, technical director of the event, Valentín Contreras, technical director of Lidom, and the presidents of Fedom associations.

The tournament, which began on May eighth, featured the participation of the teams from San Cristóbal, Barahona, Valverde and Duarte, in addition to the finalist teams.

After the conclusion of the championship, Fedom and Lidom will focus on preparing the team that will represent the Dominican Republic in the second Caribbean Series Kids in Venezuela, in July. The objective is to revalidate the title obtained in 2024. Subsequently, the team will compete in the WBSC U-12 World Cup in Chinese Taipei.
