Rincón Bay Foundation Boosts Sports in Las Galeras with Comprehensive Day

Las Galeras, Samaná – The Rincón Bay Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to the sports and social development of youth by carrying out an outstanding day in the community of Las Galeras. The initiative included the rehabilitation of facilities and a baseball clinic led by former Major League player Rafael Landestoy. As part of its efforts, the foundation carried out painting work on the playground in the town. In addition, uniforms and sports equipment were delivered, including catcher’s equipment, gloves, and balls, benefiting the Almeida League, an organization that brings together numerous young baseball players in the area. The central event was a sports clinic given by Landestoy, also known for his outstanding career as a leader of the Tigres del Licey. Around 110 children and adolescents from two local sports leagues participated in the activity, receiving technical and motivational guidance.

The day was attended by local authorities, who positively valued the impact of these types of initiatives on community development.

Víctor Dumé, director of Community Relations of the foundation, highlighted the importance of promoting sport as a tool for education and values training. He pointed out that these actions seek to provide opportunities and keep young people away from risky environments. In addition to sports practice, the Rincón Bay Foundation incorporated an educational component during the activity, offering guidance to participants as part of its comprehensive development approach. With these actions, the Rincón Bay Foundation continues to consolidate its work in various communities of Samaná, promoting sport as a means of inclusion and growth for Dominican youth.
