FEDOM Announces Technical and Operations Team for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games

The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM) has revealed the operations team and coaching staff that will represent the National Team in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. This team is composed of professionals with extensive experience in baseball, committed to defending the colors of the Dominican Republic.

Operations Team: Leadership and Experience

Luis Polonia Jr. will lead the operations team as general manager. He will be accompanied by Jonas Lantigua as Director of Operations, José Torres as assistant general manager and advance scout, and Anthony Domínguez as advance scout.

Technical Body: A Group of Experienced Professionals

The technical staff will be made up of Keyter Collado (bench coach), Kremlin Martínez (pitching coach), Ricardo Nanita (hitting coach), Rubén Santana (third base coach), Wellington Castillo (first base coach), Jean Carlos Rodríguez (quality control), Christian Hernández (clubhouse manager) and Otto De la Cruz Rosario (strength and conditioning head trainer).

These Central American and Caribbean Games constitute a new opportunity to project the greatness of Dominican baseball to the world. We have formed a high-level team, made up of professionals with discipline, judgment and a deep sense of responsibility, in whose hands we place the representation of the country.

Juan Núñez, president of FEDOM, highlighted the team’s experience and talent during the presentation. Nelson Cruz, general manager of the Dominican team in the World Baseball Classic, also positively valued the structure presented, emphasizing the combination of experience and knowledge of the game. Luis Polonia Jr., general manager of the selection, emphasized the commitment of the operations team and its objective of forming a competitive team with national identity.

Key Members’ Background

Luis Polonia Jr. has had a distinguished career as general manager of the Granjeros de Moca, with multiple championships in the Summer League. He has also participated in the operations of the Águilas Cibaeñas. In addition, he serves as an international scout for the San Francisco Giants and was general manager of the Dominican team that qualified for the Pan American Games in 2023. As a player, he participated in Major League Baseball with the Cleveland Guardians. Jonas Lantigua, Director of Operations, brings his experience as a scouting coordinator for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Dominican Republic and as Director of Advanced Scouting in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. José Torres, currently National Crosschecker for the Chicago Cubs, contributes his experience in identifying and evaluating talent. Anthony Domínguez, international scout for the Texas Rangers, complements the team with his experience as a player, trainer, and executive. He was a professional baseball player for the Seattle Mariners and was part of the coaching staff of the Dominican Republic national team in the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

The Coaching Staff: Experience in Player Development

Kremlin Martínez will lead the pitching area, with more than two decades of experience and a career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and currently with the New York Mets. Wellington Castillo, former Major League catcher, will contribute his experience as a first base coach. Ricardo Nanita, batting coach, adds international experience as a player and trainer, including his participation in the Dominican team champion of the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Keyter Collado, Jean Carlos Rodríguez, Rubén Santana, Christian Hernández, and Otto De La Cruz Rosario complete the staff, bringing experience in various areas of the game and in the physical preparation of the athletes.
