Miami – Luis Castillo, the renowned Dominican former second baseman, was honored with his induction into the Miami Marlins Hall of Fame in an emotional ceremony at LoanDepot Park. The event took place as part of the Dominican Heritage weekend, prior to the matchup between the Marlins and the Toronto Blue Jays, with the presence of franchise legends and a multitude of fans.At 49 years old, Castillo left an indelible mark on the Marlins, playing with the team for 10 seasons. During this time, his batting average was .293, with an OBP of .370, 192 extra-base hits, and 533 stolen bases. His performance earned him a total of 22.4 wins above replacement (WAR) in 1,128 regular season games.
