Ketel Marte Shines with Two Home Runs in Baltimore

Dominican player Ketel Marte had a memorable night by hitting two home runs, one of them impacting the famous Eutaw Street, during the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

In his thirteenth visit to the stadium, Marte became the key figure for Arizona. The second baseman started the game with an impressive home run on the first pitch from pitcher Dean Kremer, sending the ball 443 feet into right field.

This hit not only set the course of the game, but also made history by being the first home run of the season to land on Eutaw Street and the first by a Diamondbacks player in that iconic area of the stadium.

Mars once again demonstrated his power two innings later with another 405-foot home run, coming close to being the second player to hit two home runs on that street in the same game. At that moment, Arizona was leading the score 4-1.

With this outstanding performance, Marte added four home runs to the season, all achieved as a visitor. After his second at-bat, his offensive line was .222/.290/.444.

A relevant detail of the day was the height of the first pitch that Marte turned into a home run: 3.70 feet, one of the highest pitches he has hit out of the park in his career.

Eutaw Street: A Baseball Icon

Eutaw Street, located behind the right field of the Orioles’ stadium, is a pedestrian street recognized as a “living museum” of the most outstanding home runs. Each ball that arrives there is commemorated with a plaque that includes the player’s name, the date, and the distance of the hit.

Marte’s performance not only boosted his team, but also inscribed it in the history of one of the most emblematic places in the Major Leagues.
