Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny: Seeking the Throne at the Grammys
The 68th edition of the Grammy Awards is presented as a stage where two titans of global music, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny, will seek to forge their names in history. Following in the footsteps of Beyoncé, who marked a milestone last year, both artists aspire to set new records in rap and the urban genre, respectively.
Kendrick Lamar: At the Top of Rap
Kendrick Lamar, at 38 years old and leading the list of nominees, has the opportunity to establish himself as the rap legend with the most Grammy awards. If he manages to obtain at least four of his nine nominations, he will surpass Kanye West (24) and Jay-Z (25), who currently hold the title.
If it goes the distance and obtains at least seven awards, the Pulitzer winner could also be placed on the podium of artists who have claimed the most Grammy awards, only behind Beyoncé (35) and Georg Solti (31).

Additionally, Lamar could become the first male artist to win in the Record of the Year category for two consecutive editions, following his success with “Not Like Us” and if he repeats with “luther”.
Bad Bunny: The Latin Phenomenon
Bad Bunny, recognized as the most listened-to artist worldwide, seeks to be the first Latino to take home the most coveted awards in a single night. However, the competition is fierce, with artists like Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Billie Eilish also in the running.
A triumph for Bad Bunny in the Record of the Year category with “DeBí TiRAR MÁS FOToS” would make him the first artist to win with a song in Spanish since 1959.
Other records at stake
Bruno Mars, after winning a Grammy in 2025, seeks to lead solo in the Record of the Year award, which he currently shares with Paul Simon. Billie Eilish, with two awards in this category, aspires to a third to become the most successful woman in the history of the award.
Lady Gaga, with seven nominations for her work “Mayhem”, could surpass Adele and Beyoncé as the most awarded female artist in a single night if she achieves six wins.
The musical hit “Golden”, from the Netflix phenomenon “Kpop Demon Hunters”, seeks to join a select group of songs that have won the Grammy and the Oscar for Best Song in the same year.
Bad Bunny also aims to conquer his third award in the category of Best Urban Music Album with “DeBí TiRAR MÁS FOToS”.
