The Dominican baseball team continues to add key players for the upcoming 2026 World Baseball Classic. This Thursday, the incorporation of shortstop Geraldo Perdomo was confirmed, a player who symbolizes commitment and dedication to the tricolor jersey.
Perdomo, known for his outstanding defense, versatility in the infield, and his game intelligence, has been officially announced to join the Dominican team. His presence will provide depth and balance to the infield of the Dominican team.
The shortstop has proven to be a reliable player in the Major Leagues, both defensively and in team situations. These qualities are highly valued in short tournaments like the World Baseball Classic, where every play can be crucial.
Perdomo’s confirmation adds to the presence of stellar figures such as Fernando Tatis Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., among other MLB players. This consolidates a roster that combines talent, youth, and international experience.
The Dominican Republic will begin its participation in Group D of the World Baseball Classic on March 6, facing Nicaragua at 7:00 PM (Eastern Time) at loanDepot park in Miami. This will be the first step in the quest for a new world crown.
