Gigantes del Cibao Sign Huáscar Brazobán for Next Season

San Francisco de Macorís – Los Gigantes del Cibao have announced the incorporation of right-handed pitcher Huáscar Brazobán, who has agreed as a free agent to continue his career with the team in the upcoming season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League.

Brazobán, 36 years old and originally from Santo Domingo, will continue to defend the colors of the northeastern team. He has been a constant member of the team for the last five seasons, since his arrival in 2021, establishing himself as a fundamental element in the bullpen.

In the regular season, the right-hander has a 2-2 record, with an ERA of 2.17 in 51 games. In 45.2 innings of work, he has allowed 26 hits, 20 walks, and has managed to strike out 53 batters, showing a solid WHIP of 1.01.

In the past season, Brazobán pitched seven innings, with a record of 0-0, an ERA of 2.57, five strikeouts and a save, providing experience and solidity to the team’s bullpen.

The pitcher, with experience in the Major Leagues, joins Jimmy Cordero and Leury García as part of the first confirmed players to stay with the team, in the initial continuity moves while the franchise works on future additions.

With this signing, the Giants reaffirm their commitment to the stability and experience of important players, with the goal of competing for the championship next season.
