Eury Pérez Shines to Lead the Marlins to Victory

In a crucial moment, Dominican pitcher Eury Pérez delivered an outstanding performance for the Miami Marlins, securing a 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at loanDepot park. This triumph ended a four-game losing streak for the team.

In a matchup between promising young pitchers, Pérez outdueled Jacob Misiorowski, demonstrating a notable recovery after some recent challenges. After a few complicated outings, the Dominican pitcher achieved a quality start, allowing only one unearned run and three hits, while striking out seven batters.

The four-seam fastball was Pérez’s main weapon, used in most of his pitches. With it, he achieved six of his seven strikeouts, in an efficient performance of 84 pitches.

Miami’s offense made itself felt from the start of the game, scoring three runs in the first inning. This put pressure on Misiorowski, forcing him into a demanding start. The batters got on base quickly, loading the bases, and although Kyle Stowers didn’t hit a hit, he contributed to the offensive pressure, even getting hit by a pitch.

The attack continued with a grounder by Agustín Ramírez and a two-run single by Liam Hicks.

Pérez maintained control of the game until the sixth inning, where he allowed his only walk to David Hamilton. The runner advanced to third after a steal and an error, scoring the rival’s only run with a groundout by Garrett Mitchell.

Miami’s response was immediate. In the bottom of that same inning, Venezuelan Javier Sanoja, as a pinch hitter, extended the lead with a two-run single against DL Hall, also marking his 100th hit in the Major Leagues.

With Pérez’s solid performance on the mound and a timely offense, the Marlins managed to break the losing streak and get back on the path to victory.
