SANTIAGO – Cibao FC has announced the incorporation of Colombian midfielder Mateo Palacios, a reinforcement that joins the team immediately for the dispute of the Liguilla, the second phase of the Dominican Republic Football League.
An Offensive Reinforcement for Cibao FC
With 29 years of age, Palacios, measures 1.74 meters and weighs 70 kg, stands out for his offensive profile. His main position is that of attacking midfielder, also known as “10”, but he can perform as an interior or inverted winger, using his right foot as the dominant one.
The signing of Palacios comes at a crucial moment for the Dominican football champion team. This Saturday, Cibao FC will face Universidad O&M in the fourth matchday of the Liguilla. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the stadium of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
Palacios’ International Career
Mateo Palacios has developed an international career, playing in various clubs. His most recent participation was in Marquense of Guatemala during the 2025-26 season. He has also played in Persipa Pati of Indonesia and Bangladesh Police of Bangladesh. In Colombia, he was part of the Deportivo Pasto, Alianza FC and Boyacá Chicó teams, accumulating experience in different leagues and playing styles.
In his club career, Palacios has 175 matches, with 17 goals and 23 assists.
