Cubs Secure Pete Crow-Armstrong with Million-Dollar Extension

MESA, Arizona – The Chicago Cubs have secured a fundamental piece for their future by reaching a six-year, $115 million contract extension agreement with center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, according to sources close to the negotiation.

This agreement, subject to medical review, would extend until the 2032 season. The contract includes incentives that could increase its total value to $133 million. With this signing, the organization ensures the continuity of one of the most promising and dynamic players on its roster.

Crow-Armstrong has quickly established himself as a key figure for the franchise, thanks to his energy on the field, his elite defense, and his offensive impact, which has made him a favorite of the Chicago fanbase.

During the past season, the center fielder demonstrated outstanding performance with 31 home runs, 37 doubles, 95 RBIs, 35 stolen bases, and 91 runs scored. In addition, he marked a milestone in the franchise by becoming the fastest Cubs player to achieve a season of 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases, also adding at least 30 doubles.

In defense, he also left his mark by recording 19 five-star catches, the most in a season since this statistic has been measured, solidifying himself as one of the best defensive outfielders in Major League Baseball.

The previous season was crucial for Crow-Armstrong’s rise, who played at a Most Valuable Player level for much of the year and helped the Cubs qualify for the postseason with 92 wins, finishing just one win short of advancing to the National League Division Series.

With this extension, Chicago secures the core of its team for the coming years and reinforces its aspirations to compete again for the World Series, with Crow-Armstrong as one of its main figures for the 2026 season.
