Charros de Jalisco Dominates Cangrejeros de Santurce in the Caribbean Series

In a demonstration of power on the mound and a timely offensive, the Charros de Jalisco from Mexico defeated the Cangrejeros de Santurce from Puerto Rico with a score of 3-0 on the third day of the 68th Caribbean Series, held at the Pan American Stadium. This key victory positions the Charros in second place in the tournament, solidifying their record at two wins and one loss. On the other hand, the Cangrejeros suffered their second defeat in the competition.

Luis Miranda Shines from the Mound

Starting pitcher Luis Miranda was the main figure of the game, pitching six and a third innings without allowing runs. His outstanding performance included only two hits allowed, four strikeouts, and earning the victory. The Mexican bullpen, made up of Gerardo Reyes, Matt Foster, and Trevor Clifton, maintained the intensity, with Clifton securing the save.

Mexican Offensive Makes the Difference

The Charros’ offense was present from the start, scoring a run in the first inning, another in the third, and sealing the score with one more in the fifth episode. Michael Wielansky led the attack with an outstanding performance of 4-3, including two doubles and two RBIs. Jared Ornelas also contributed significantly with a solid 4-2, scoring twice. On the Cangrejeros’ side, Eduardo Rivera took the loss after working three innings and two-thirds, allowing five hits and two runs. J. Morales, A. Marrero, and C. Fernández pitched in relief. The Cangrejeros’ offense was limited, with only three hits connected by Centeno, López and Velázquez.
