Andersson García, Player of the Week in the LNB Super League
Santo Domingo – Andersson García, player for the Marineros de Puerto Plata, has been awarded Player of the Week in the LNB Super League, thanks to his outstanding performance between April 28 and May 3.
García proved his worth in the third week of competition, averaging a triple-double with 16.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 12.5 assists. In addition, he showed a 44% field goal percentage and reached an efficiency of 71 in the two games he played with his team.
The player from Moca, who also participated in the NBA this year, received the support of 24 of the 59 votes cast by journalists covering the league, surpassing Luismal Ferreiras, from the Gigantes Basketball Club, who obtained 14 votes.
Ferreiras, who participated in three games, averaged 17.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, with 55% field goal efficiency and an efficiency rating of 68.
Other players who also received votes were: Romeao Ferguson (8 votes) of the Southern Titans; Marvin Smith Jr. (6) of the Eastern Cane Cutters; Eloy Vargas (3) of the Heroes of Moca; Francis King Fitzgerald (2) of the Giants, and Gerardo Suero (2) of the Santo Domingo Lions.
With this recognition, García joins Luismal Ferreiras and Jordan Hall (Metros de Santiago) as the outstanding players of the week in the LNB Super League.
