FEDOMES Fine-Tunes Details for the Central American and Caribbean Games

Santo Domingo – The Dominican Fencing Federation (FEDOMES) has begun preparations for its participation in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, which will take place in the country from July 24 to August 8 of this year. During a day held last Saturday at the Los Prados Club, the Executive Committee, led by Gilberto Soriano, along with technicians and athletes from the national team, shared ideas and expectations about their participation in the international event. Technicians Agustín García, Carmen Núñez, Randall Hernández, Carlos Vega, Alodia Rodríguez and Gleni Samuel, stated that the sabre, épée and foil teams are motivated and committed to the goal of “winning”.

We are working hard to gain confidence and thus achieve the goal of reaching the podium in the upcoming XXV Central American and Caribbean Games.

Melody Martínez
The athletes Melody Martínez, Maiber de la Cruz, Franchelis Ramos, Rossy Feliz, José Lockward, Elsa Mateo and Gabriel Alfau, expressed high expectations. Martínez, an exponent of women’s sabre, stated that the team is focused on reaching the podium. De La Cruz, also of female sable, affirmed the team’s commitment to obtain the gold in the Games. Ramos, from the fencing team, highlighted the group’s determination to face competitive challenges. The new executive committee, including Marcos Clase, Luis Luna Yorro, Wilmer Payano, José Omar Santos Rijo, Gleni Samuel, José Morel, Carlos Almonte Yndalecio and Javi Palín, supported the formation of the teams, highlighting the balance between athletes, technicians and fencing experts for a comprehensive and strategic vision. The president of FEDOMES, Gilberto Soriano, emphasized the priority of supporting athletes: “We are focused on providing all the necessary tools for our athletes to arrive in the best conditions at the Central American Games.”
