Byron Buxton, outfielder for the Minnesota Twins, had an impressive week. His batting average was .345, the product of 10 hits in 29 at-bats. In addition, he hit a double, five home runs, stole two bases, scored six runs, and drove in seven in seven games. This is the third Player of the Week award for Buxton, which underscores his impact when he is in top form.On the other hand, Alec Burleson was fundamental in the success of the St. Louis Cardinals, who won six of seven games during the period. The left-handed hitter batted .407 with 11 hits in 27 at-bats, including three doubles and two home runs. He scored eight runs and drove in 11. This is Burleson’s first Player of the Week award since his MLB debut in 2022. Additionally, Nathan Church, also from the Cardinals, was the protagonist with the Play of the Week, thanks to a crucial catch that prevented a decisive home run against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
