Yayo Sanz Lovatón officializes support for David Collado’s presidential candidacy
In a strategic move that redefines the internal political landscape of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Eduardo “Yayo” Sanz Lovatón has decided to decline his presidential aspirations to join forces with the current Minister of Tourism, David Collado, ahead of the 2028 electoral race.
The decision was formalized during a key meeting held at the Radisson Hotel in Santo Domingo. In this meeting, Sanz Lovatón communicated to his political team and Collado’s close collaborators the integration of their structures, marking a milestone in the consolidation of alliances within the ruling party.
Political unity with an eye on 2028
The event featured the participation of approximately 30 legislators and high-level leaders, who witnessed the union of two of the most influential factions within the PRM. According to the details that emerged, the strategy outlined by Sanz Lovatón under the slogan “Defend Luis to win with David,” seeks to maintain cohesion around President Luis Abinader’s administration while paving the way for Collado’s presidential nomination.

The convergence of both political teams brought together figures of great national relevance. On behalf of Sanz Lovatón’s team, notable presences included:
- Gloria Reyes, National Organization Secretary of the PRM.
- Franklin Romero, Senator of the Republic.
- Dío Astacio, Mayor of Santo Domingo Este.
- Rafael Duluc “Cholitín”, Senator for La Altagracia.
- Ignacio Aracena, Deputy.
- In addition to other prominent leaders such as Tammy Colón, Dilenia Santos, Miguel Arredondo, Miguel Boga, Adalgisa Abreu, Pedro Catrain, and Augusto Velázquez.
On the side of David Collado’s structure, figures such as the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, were present, along with leaders José Leonel “Neney” Cabrera, Víctor Pichardo, Aníbal Díaz, and Stalin Alcántara.
