The World Compliance Association recognizes excellence and ethics in the Dominican Republic
The World Compliance Association, Dominican Republic chapter (WCA-RD), successfully held the second edition of the Ethics & Compliance Awards 2026. This annual event aims primarily to highlight the work of professionals who have made a significant difference by promoting integrity, innovation, and a culture of compliance within the country’s business fabric.
The ceremony, held at the Cava Alta restaurant in Santo Domingo, brought together prominent figures from the sector. During the meeting, Tania de León, president of the WCA-RD, underscored the importance of making integrity standards visible as a driver of social change.
Recognizing good practices is also a way to multiply them and build benchmarks that inspire others.

A growing commitment to integrity
For his part, Babaji Cruz, secretary general of the entity, highlighted that this second edition consolidates the awards as a key benchmark for the local compliance community. According to Cruz, the goal is to continue strengthening ties between the public and private sectors to foster a culture of solid ethics throughout the nation.
The selection process was led by a rigorous evaluation committee, with the participation of representatives from various institutions, including the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep). Ruth de los Santos, a member of said committee, highlighted the high level of the applications, which evidences the progress and maturity that the compliance area has reached in the country.
Award winners in the 2026 edition
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of statuettes to prominent figures in various categories:
- Compliance Ambassador 2026: Emerson Díaz Cabral and María Camilo.
- Innovative Compliance 2026: Paola Clisante and Roberto Mella.
- Outstanding Associate of the Year 2026: Elizabeth Hart.
- Ethics & Compliance Career Achievement: Cibeles Jiménez.
Additionally, special recognitions were awarded to Rosanna Ruiz, for her fundamental role in the arrival and establishment of the WCA in the country since 2021, and to journalist Luis David Flores, who was distinguished for his communicative work in the dissemination and visibility of compliance issues to the public opinion.
