Concern over the increase in violence against women

This unfortunate event is part of a worrying trend regarding the safety of women in the country. According to data collected by the Public Ministry, gender-based violence figures have shown a significant increase during the current year:

  • Femicides have recorded a 44% increase, totaling thirteen cases between January and July.
  • Attempted femicide has experienced an alarming growth of 89%, reaching 17 cases in the same period.
