Tigres del Licey strengthen their roster with impact players for the 2026-27 season

The Tigres del Licey have taken a firm step in their preparation for the upcoming season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (Lidom). The capital city team integrated a group of talented players into their training camp, led by renowned figures and high-caliber prospects who seek to provide depth and offensive power from the start of the campaign.

The new additions were reported this Monday at the Baseball City facilities, located in Boca Chica, where the blue team intensifies its work sessions under the watchful eye of its coaching staff.

Young talent and infield experience

One of the names generating the most anticipation is Jesús Madé, recognized as one of the highest-projected prospects in organized baseball. Madé arrives after a brilliant performance in the minor leagues with the Milwaukee Brewers’ affiliate, where he stood out with a .271 average, 14 home runs, and 91 runs batted in.

Alongside him, the experienced Maikel Franco joins the Licey ranks. Franco, who comes from seeing action in Mexican baseball, will contribute his veteran presence after a solid performance where he hit 19 home runs and recorded an OPS of .826 in 87 games.

The mix of youth and experience is key to our aspirations. Having players with the track record of Franco and the potential of Madé allows us to face the start of the season with great confidence.
