Dominican Republic to host the fourth edition of the 2026 World Police Games

The Dominican Republic is preparing to host an event of international significance. The National Police has confirmed that the country will be the stage for the fourth edition of the World Police Games, a sporting event that will bring together representatives from 31 nations. The event, scheduled to be held from October 26 to 30, 2026, has the primary objective of fostering fellowship and institutional values through healthy competition.

This initiative not only highlights the country’s organizational capacity for large-scale events, but also seeks to strengthen ties of cooperation and the exchange of experiences between law enforcement agencies from various countries, promoting discipline and teamwork as fundamental pillars.

Seven disciplines will define the champions

The sports programming has been structured to include a variety of both individual and collective modalities, designed to test the physical, technical, and mental preparation of the participating athletes. The confirmed disciplines are as follows:

  • 3×3 Basketball: A high-intensity sport that demands speed and quick decision-making.
  • Beach volleyball: Focused on physical endurance and effective communication between team members.
  • Swimming: A test of technique, speed, and a high level of concentration.
  • Golf: A discipline that requires strategy, control, and absolute precision.
  • 10-kilometer run: A challenge of cardiovascular endurance and training discipline.
  • IPSC practical shooting: Combines technical skill with speed and strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Judo: A martial art that promotes self-control, respect for the opponent, and body mastery.

The diversity of these seven modalities will allow for the development of a broad competitive program, with opportunities for athletes of different specialties and levels of preparation, consolidating the Dominican Republic as a strategic meeting point for police sports globally.

With the confirmation of delegations from 31 countries, this event promises to be a high-level showcase where men and women dedicated to police service will demonstrate their commitment, not only to public safety, but also to sporting excellence.
