Tragedy in Kyiv: Death toll rises to 15 after massive Russian attack
The city of Kyiv is in mourning following a devastating combined attack launched by Russian forces. According to the latest toll provided by local authorities, the number of fatalities has risen to 15, while the number of injured people has reached 39, who are receiving emergency medical care.

Details of the offensive against civilian infrastructure
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the scale of this operation, noting that it was an action planned to maximize damage to civilian targets. Among the affected structures are high-rise residential buildings, a children’s hospital center, and an educational institution.
According to reports from the Ukrainian Air Force, the offensive stood out for its technical complexity and the massive use of weaponry, including:
- Ballistic missiles of various types, including Onyx, Zircon, Iskander-M, and S-400.
- More than 40 cruise missiles of different models (Kh-101, Kh-59, Kalibr, and Iskander-K).
- An unprecedented deployment of 168 drones.
Impact on basic services
In addition to the loss of human life, the attack caused a severe disruption to the capital’s electrical system. The energy company DTEK reported that, following intense repair efforts, service has been restored to the 90,000 homes that were initially left without power due to the impacts.

Since the start of the invasion in February 2022, Kyiv has been a recurring target of bombings.
