The Queens of the Caribbean begin the defense of their crown at the 2026 NORCECA
The women’s national volleyball team, the Queens of the Caribbean, begins its participation in the 2026 NORCECA Continental Championship this Friday. The event, which is hosted at the Prof. Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace in Santo Domingo, represents the first step for the Dominican team in its quest to defend the regional title and chart the path toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The hosts’ debut is scheduled for 8:30 at night against the Costa Rican team. This match marks the beginning of the preliminary phase for the local squad, which seeks to take advantage of the support of its fans to set the tone from the first set.
Format and path to glory
The Queens of the Caribbean have been placed in Group B, where they share the bill with Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Costa Rica. On the other hand, Group A is made up of the national teams of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Trinidad and Tobago.
