Intense day of police operations leaves multiple detainees and substances seized

The National Police intensified its preventive work in the last 24 hours, executing a series of operations nationwide that resulted in the arrest of six individuals and the execution of five arrest warrants. These actions are part of the institution’s commitment to maintain order and combat crime in the Dominican territory.

Details of the operations by province

In the Espaillat and Hermanas Mirabal provinces, police officers managed to capture five citizens who were actively sought by the justice system. The charges filed include gender-based and domestic violence, fraud, and aggravated robbery, with all those involved being transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the initiation of the corresponding judicial proceedings.

On the other hand, in the María Auxiliadora sector of La Vega, a police intervention resulted in the seizure of 30 portions of alleged marijuana, 68 of alleged cocaine, and a scale used for weighing drugs. Several suspects managed to evade the authorities by fleeing at the moment of the police deployment.

Featured cases in Montecristi and Santo Domingo

In Villa Vásquez, Montecristi, authorities detained José Ramón Reyes. The citizen appeared at the Loma de Castañuelas police station attempting to recover a previously impounded Suzuki motorcycle; however, after a background check, it was confirmed that the vehicle had a theft report and presented irregularities in its documentation.

Finally, in the La Caleta sector, Santo Domingo Este, Manuel García, 39, was arrested. The man was accused of attempting to commit a robbery using a toy gun. At the time of his arrest, 5,800 pesos in cash, personal documents belonging to a third party, and the replica firearm were seized from him.

All those apprehended, together with the collected evidence, have been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities so that they may answer for the acts of which they are accused.
