The Pigosi family shines at the Central American Games: 12 medals for Dominican water skiing
Dominican water skiing experienced a historic moment thanks to the outstanding performance of the Pigosi brothers, who managed to harvest a total of 12 medals during their participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games. The athletes, originally from Boca Chica, became the protagonists of the discipline, taking the tricolor flag to the highest part of the podium in a competition marked by family and national pride.
The family delegation, which combined talent and effort, achieved an impressive harvest that included gold, silver, and bronze medals. Among the most notable results, Andrea Pigosi took home one gold and two silver medals, while another of her siblings also added a gold to the Dominican team’s overall tally.
An unforgettable experience at home
For the Pigosi siblings, competing on Dominican soil represented a unique opportunity. Beyond the medals obtained, they valued the impeccable organization of the event and the warm support of the local fans, who turned out to support a discipline that seeks to consolidate itself with greater strength in the country.
The experience is very cool. We have been to Pan American Games before, but the organization here in the country was truly the best I have seen. We had a super good time and are very happy to be able to bring these medals along with my siblings to the Dominican Republic.

Boosting sports from Boca Chica
The impact of the Pigosis transcends statistics. Their main goal is to use this success to foster the growth of water skiing and motivate new generations to get involved in the sport. The connection with their Boca Chica community has been fundamental, feeling supported at all times by their family members and the public that accompanied them on each day.
Reflecting on their performance, the athletes expressed their satisfaction with the legacy they are building:
- Andrea Pigosi: 1 gold and 2 silvers.
- Other members: Contributed to the total of 12 family medals.
- Social impact: Promotion of water skiing in the national territory.
After the closing of the Games, the siblings joined the celebrations alongside other Dominican athletes, traveling through the streets in a caravan to share the fruits of their hard work with the people. For the Pigosis, the greatest triumph is not just the number of medals, but having managed to get water skiing to gain new followers and be recognized as a sport of great value in the Dominican Republic.
