Promoting urban and strategic development in Santiago and the Cibao region
The Dominican government has reinforced its commitment to the comprehensive development of Santiago and the entire northern region, prioritizing the monitoring of key infrastructure projects and supporting the update of the Municipal Land Use Plan. This tool is essential to guarantee organized and sustainable urban growth in one of the most dynamic cities in the country.
José Ignacio Paliza, Minister of the Presidency, led a workday in the Heart City, where he held strategic meetings with representatives of productive sectors, local associations, and municipal authorities. The main objective of these meetings is to evaluate firsthand the impact of national and regional works in the Cibao, streamlining responses to citizens’ needs.
Focus on territorial planning
During his visit to the Santiago City Hall, the official highlighted the importance of updating the Municipal Land Use Plan, a vital process in the face of accelerated housing growth and the challenges regarding mobility and public services that the city faces.
