Alleged police aggression reported during arrest in Jarabacoa
An incident that occurred in the La Colonia sector, in Jarabacoa, La Vega, has sparked concern among residents following the circulation of a video on social media showing the moment a citizen was detained by National Police officers. The event took place in the vicinity of a fast-food establishment located on 5th Street in the aforementioned community.
Witnesses who were in the area at the time of the procedure claim that the citizen was walking on the public road when he was approached by the uniformed officers. According to accounts from employees of a nearby commercial establishment, the actions of some of the agents present were allegedly violent, which has generated strong rejection among the residents of the sector.
They demand a transparent investigation
So far, the law enforcement institution has not issued an official version regarding the reasons for the arrest, nor has it clarified whether the use of force was proportional or justified.
