Authorities capture one of those involved in the assault on a young man in Serrallés
President Luis Abinader confirmed the capture of one of the individuals identified as responsible for the stabbing attack suffered by 23-year-old Gustavo Adolfo III Mejía-Ricart Risk. The incident, which has caused great consternation, took place during the early hours of last Saturday in the Serrallés sector, located in the National District.
During a recent intervention, the president reported on the progress of the investigations, stressing that security agencies are maintaining intelligence efforts to identify and apprehend the other subjects involved in this criminal act.
There are two cases that have been presented this weekend. There is one where one of the perpetrators has already been captured, in the case of the young Mejía-Ricart.

According to preliminary data, the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 in the morning, when the victim was heading to their residence. It was on that route that they were intercepted and pursued by a man on a motorcycle. Security cameras captured the moment the assailant entered the building, chasing the victim to the lobby area, where he finally committed the assault before fleeing the scene.
At the moment, the case is being managed by a multidisciplinary team:
- Central Directorate of Investigations (Dicrim).
- Directorate of the Information and Communication Technology Area (Dicat).
- National Emergency and Security Attention System 9-1-1.
- Direct coordination with the Public Ministry.
Statement on the shooting in Boca Chica
President Abinader also referred to the recent violent incident recorded in Boca Chica, which resulted in the death of two people and left five others injured. Initial investigations suggest that the attack was perpetrated by members of a criminal gang.
Faced with this situation, the head of state sent a direct message to those responsible, urging them to surrender to the authorities voluntarily to avoid further consequences. The president was emphatic in pointing out that the Government will spare no effort in the pursuit of the culprits, reiterating that for his administration, every human loss is regrettable and must be clarified through justice.
