NYPD actively searching for double homicide suspect in Brooklyn and The Bronx
New York authorities have intensified the search for Jesús Acosta, a 31-year-old man identified as the primary suspect in two violent acts that resulted in the deaths of two people. The incidents, which occurred just 48 hours apart, have caused deep shock in the communities of Brooklyn and The Bronx.
Chronology of violent events
The first incident took place during the early hours of Sunday at the America’s Best Wings & Pizza establishment, located on Rockaway Avenue, Brooklyn. According to the police report, a 44-year-old employee, later identified as MD Yousuf, lost his life after being shot in the head. In the same attack, a 39-year-old coworker was wounded in the leg, although he remains in stable condition after receiving medical attention.
Violence moved to The Bronx this Tuesday, when an armed individual burst into a bodega located near East 149th Street and Walton Avenue. Security cameras recorded the moment the attacker opened fire on a 33-year-old customer. After the assault, the suspect stole the victim’s belongings and cash before fleeing. Despite being transported to Lincoln Medical Center, the victim passed away shortly after due to the severity of his injuries.

Suspect’s background
Jesús Acosta has a prior criminal record. The suspect had been on parole since last April, after serving a sentence of nearly ten years for an armed incident that occurred in 2015 inside a subway station in Harlem. At that time, he was convicted of assault after shooting a person during a dispute on the 2 line of the transit system.
